Purpose and Schedule
The competition aims to unleash the innovators' imagination and creativity for the "Future City" theme. Cross-field and innovative cooperation and future-proofed projects applicable to thea AEZ are encouraged.
Themes and Guidelines
1. Green & Low-carbon
To explore ideas for the intensive use of space and green ecological development in the Beijing Daxing International Airport Economic Zone, especially in the Daxing International C&E and Consumption Hub;
To explore ideas for the development of green and low-carbon industries and urban morphology in the AEZ.
Examples:
Proposals for low-carbon/sustainable technologies or products
Proposals for innovative policies on green development
Proposals for innovative business models related to green and low-carbon development or green energy
2. Cultural Inclusivity
To develop the AEZ's Chinese elements, especially Beijing ones, which highlight cultural inclusivity as "China's New Gateway";
To explore ideas for the construction of AEZ culture and city branding in the new era.
Examples:
Proposals for developing and designing cultural and creative products
Proposals for digital creative cultural products
Proposals for cultural IP or its derivatives
Proposals for cultural works especially orginal videos
3. New Consumption
To focus on the synergy of consumption and innovation, and online-offline promotion of the integrated development of new products, types of businesses, business models and services in the AEZ;
To explore ideas for building a world-class destination for consumption with scenarios and flagship projects in the AEZ.

Proposals for new consuming patterns
Proposals for developing and designing new consumer products
Proposals for creating new consumption scenarios
Proposals for innovating new consumption models
4. Smart Tech
To build a smart airport city, and encourage innovation in management, services, technologies and models in related fields;
To promote the landing and incubation of big data, artificial intelligence and other technologies in the AEZ.
Examples:
Proposals for technical or business models concerning the application of big data / internet of things / blockchain / artificial intelligence and other technologies in a smart city
Solutions of different scenarios in a smart city
Proposals for city data governance models or relevant policies
The proposals are not limited to the examples above.
Program Dates
(The launch is scheduled in May and the final in August)
Registration starting from May 26
Event to be released in mid-June in the presence of the representatives of partners
Registration to close and shortlist to be announced in late June
Deliverables should be prepared in July (competitors are allowed to discuss the interim outcome with the expert committee)
Final deliverables to be submitted by 10 am on August 15
Finalists to be announced on August 19
Roadshow materials for the final to be submitted by August 24
(The host will work with the participants to ensure the quality of the roadshow materials and stop collecting materials 2 days before the roadshow.)
Final to be held on August 26
The 14 finalists will participate in a live roadshow and oral defense at the final. A jury composed of representatives from top universities and institutions and corporate executives (co-partners) will score the presentations and determine the rankings.
Award Ceremony
The ceremony is to be held 1-2 weeks after the final. Winners will be invited to attend the ceremony which is designed for both the Daxing International C&E and Consumption Hub Idea Competition and the "Future City" Explorer Global Innovation Competition. The event will also enable talents with different expertise to communicate with each other.
