Eight experts from the commercial and exhibition industries specializing in planning, operation, culture and low-carbon development exchanged views with the eight shortlisted teams.

Luo Boming, deputy director of the Beijing Daxing International Airport Economic Zone Administrative Committee, and Cao Hui, President of Beijing New Aerotropolis, attended the activity.

The Daxing International C&E and Consumption Hub idea competition invited the world's top business planning and concept planning teams to create a new world-class landmark project in Beijing.

The competition has attracted 59 participants from nine countries since its launch, and eight were shortlisted. The exchange activity signified an important stage where the contestants discussed the interim outcome with the expert committee.

Each of the eight teams has blueprints for the development of the AEZ's international C&E and consumption hub on the basis of the global advanced development philosophy and particularly in the context of the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. Experts of various fields communicated with the contestants on the planning idea and design philosophy of their proposals.

The second communication workshop will be held in July and the contestants will complete their final deliverables in August. A series of activities including presentations and award ceremonies will be the follow up. The competition is part of efforts to build the AEZ into an innovation hub connecting the world and a new engine for China's development.

The "Future City" Explorer Global Innovation Competition, another event of the planning and construction of the Daxing International C&E and Consumption Hub, has also been launched. It is designed to collect ideas for urban innovation and development, fuel innovation in technology, policy and business, and build a platform of exchanges among talents, projects and brands.

The event focuses on the four themes of green and low-carbon, cultural inclusivity, new consumption, and smart tech, to stimulate thinking on environmental protection, humanity, new consumption and wisdom throughout all of society.

The BDIAEZ will take the opportunity to enhance its cooperation with the world's leading companies and top academic institutions and universities in the fields of the construction of talents, projects and brands.
