The Linping district of Hangzhou city, capital of East China's Zhejiang province, unveiled its new official logo and mascots on June 30.
According to the designers, the logo was inspired by the district's history, culture, nature and landmarks. The main design element of the logo is a curved bridge with seven arches which represents the district's Guangji Bridge, built in 1498 and the only remaining seven-arched stone bridge on the Grand Canal.
The inverted image of the curved bridge in the logo, integrating lines, conveys that the district is an important thoroughfare linking Hangzhou with other parts of the Yangtze River Delta region.

The designs of the three mascots - Yue Yue, Lin Lin, Ping Ping - are inspired by the plum blossoms of Chaoshan Mountain, the Linping Grand Theater and the Tangxi loquat, a small edible fruit.
Their decorative motifs are said to combine the local culture and landmarks of Linping with elements of modern technology.
