Lanterns and flowers at Jinshitan, Dalian
Colored lanterns of Zigong city, Southwest China's Sichuan province, are on display at a lantern show in Jinshitan Botanical Garden, Dalian city, Liaoning province.
The lantern show is under the sponsorship of Zigong Lantern Festival. With roses on a slope in the botanical garden, it creates a magnificent landscape of beautiful lanterns, flowers, mountains and seas at Jinshitan.
This is one of more than 30 activities in the 18th Dalian International Beach Culture Festival. The festival kicked off on July 24 and will run until Sept 10.
The lantern festival opened at the Jinshitan Botanical Garden on April 29. More than 200 craftsmen worked for more than 40 days and nights on site, combining the intangible cultural heritage Zigong lanterns with the unique mountain and sea scenery of Jinshitan in an ingenious way.
With both modern and traditional elements, it is currently the largest lantern festival in northern China, offering visitors a light-and-shadow spectacle.
This is an important cooperation between Zigong and Dalian, and marks part of Dalian's efforts to promote high-quality development of its night economy.
This year's Dalian International Beach Culture Festival is hosted by the festival Organizing Committee, and organized by the Jinpu New Area Management Committee, the Dalian Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, and the Jinshitan National Tourism Resort Management Committee.
