The water quality of Luci Creek has been improved due to the concerted efforts made by those in charge of the areas the creek runs through.
Originating from Maling Scenic Spot in the county-level city of Jiande, Luci Creek has a total length of 19.7 kilometers. About 4.3 kilometers are located in Jiande, while the rest are situated in Tonglu county. Both Jiande and Tonglu are administered by Hangzhou, East China's Zhejiang province.
The two places have worked out a plan to coordinate river protection efforts such as launching joint patrols and cleaning work. Due to these efforts, the river's water quality now ranges between grade I and II, the top two grades in the nation's classfication system for water quality.
Luci Creek has also been listed among the first batch of provincial beautiful rivers and lakes in Zhejiang.
