Schneider Electric joins hands with IUE to build green and low-carbon design innovation center

On Sept 28, the signing ceremony between Schneider Electric and the Institute of Urban Environment (IUE), a research institute directly under the Chinese Academy of Sciences, was held at the site of 10th anniversary of Schneider Electric's R&D center in Xi'an, capital of Shanxi province.

The two parties announced that they will jointly build a green and low-carbon design innovation center, which will help promote the industrial development of green and low-carbon innovation and in the construction of a standardization system for green design products, thereby helping to accelerate the implementation of the carbon neutrality goal.

Green design is an effective way to achieve sustainable development. Schneider Electric aims to create green and low-carbon products with a full life cycle by systematically considering the energy-saving, low-carbon, resource recycling and environmental friendliness of products through green design, on the basis of ensuring product environmental compliance and environmental information transparency.

In this cooperation, the IUE’s professional team will connect with Schneider Electric's existing green innovation achievements and industry application scenarios to promote the integration of scientific research and enterprise production practices, and will support the transformation and implementation of green design innovation achievements.
