Linping eco-tech zone makes strong progress in past 10 years

The remarkable progress of the Linping economic and technological development zone over the past 10 years since it earned a national title can be represented by two figures, the director of zone said.

One is that by 2021, the total value of industrial enterprises above a designated size had exceeded 100 billion yuan ($13.95 billion), and the other is that its industrial added value rate has reached 23.2 percent.

The first figure would not have been possible without the zone's three pillar industries of high-end equipment, biopharmaceuticals, and home textiles and fabrics, and seeking digital, environmentally-friendly, and service-oriented development has long been prioritized by the zone.

For example, the zone boasted the largest number of local enterprises being assigned by Zhejiang province to build futuristic factories, represented by Robam Appliances, CF Moto, and Xio Lift.

Moreover, 150 projects in the zone have been approved by the Hangzhou municipal government for digital reform. Functions such as databases going online and digital applications have also reached full coverage among all local plants. In addition, the zone is the first in Zhejiang province to be awarded the title of intelligent manufacturing demonstration zone.

The zone has also rolled out a series of policies and plans to help local enterprises realize targeted development.

For example, the "Early Bird" program will clarify the leading industries, optimize the spatial layout, and give play to the brand effect to focus on improving the economic benefits and innovation of all enterprises.

Through these innovative measures, the zone has witnessed its number of listed enterprises rising from just one in 2010 to 16 today.
