The Guizhou new energy material innovation center, the first manufacturing innovation center in the province, was officially established in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on Oct 21.
The center will focus on the R&D of new materials, products, technologies, processes and equipment related to phosphorus and fluorine.
Currently, the center is carrying out seven independent innovation projects, such as the R&D and commercialization of high-performance ferric phosphate technology and the R&D of sodium ion and ternary cathode materials. Some of the projects have seen major breakthroughs.
Feng Kemin, president of Guizhou Phosphate Chemical New Energy Technology Co, said that the center is expected to enhance Guizhou's innovation ability in the new energy industry, tackle difficult problems, and promote industrial upgrading.
"We will establish six basic research labs, four pilot scale test platforms and two testing platforms to enhance innovation and promote the commercialization of sci-tech achievements. We aim to become a national leader and reach an internationally-advanced level in new energy materials," said Feng.
