Wenzhou Olympic Sports Center Stadium hosts national football match

The Wenzhou Olympic Sports Center Stadium in the city's Longwan district hosted a match of the 2023 CFA China Youth Football League (U19) on June 28.

More than 36,000 people watched the game between Cangzhou Mighty Lions and Wuhan Three Towns on-site. The latter team scored one point only six minutes after the match began at 19:30 and ultimately won with a score of three to one.

Uemura Kenichi, head coach of Wuhan Three Towns, praised the careful preparation by the event organizers and advanced facilities in the stadium during a press conference after the match.

Zheng Yiran, a member of the team, echoed that sentiment: "The field is well-equipped and flat. It was a fantastic game."

The stadium is also a venue for the football group matches of the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022, which will be held from Sept 23 to Oct 8.
