Projects worth $5.24b land in Science City of Silk Road

The Science City of the Silk Road, located in Xi'an High-tech Zone, Shaanxi province, witnessed the signing ceremony of 31 projects with a total investment of 38.2 billion yuan ($5.24 billion) on Sept 11th. This will further boost the comprehensive development of the area.

The signed projects cover various fields, including the local headquarters economy, technological innovation, new consumption, and the manufacturing industry. They will consolidate the industrial foundation of the Science City of the Silk Road, continuously release the vitality of science and innovation, accelerate the gathering of headquarters, and improve the zone’s supporting functions.

By the end of the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25), the Science City of the Silk Road aims to attract a population of 500,000, with an economic scale of one trillion yuan, serving as a high-energy industrial zone and a high-quality city zone in Xi'an. By 2035, it plans to gather a population of 1.5 million, with an economic scale exceeding three trillion yuan, driving the total economic scale of Xi'an High-tech Zone to reach five trillion yuan, and becoming the main engine for the economic development of Xi'an.
