2023 EEF’s science and technology branch focuses on hard & core technology

The science and technology branch of the 2023 Eurasia Economic Forum (EEF) was held in Xi'an High-tech Zone, Shaanxi province, on September 22, 2023.

The sixth edition of the EEF's science and technology branch, with the theme of "consultation, joint construction, and shared benefits," aims to consolidate mutually beneficial relationships in the Eurasian region and expand cooperation between the Xi'an High-tech Zone and the Eurasian region.

During the meeting, Xing Xin, vice chairman of the Xi'an Municipal Political Consultative Conference, stated that by the end of 2022, after Beijing, Shanghai, and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Xi'an has become the fourth region in China to be approved as a comprehensive national science center and a technological innovation center. This milestone signifies that Xi'an's technological innovation is entering a new stage of high-quality development and sets higher requirements for its open and innovative strategies. In the future, the EEF platform will be utilized to build communication bridges between domestic and international technological innovation fields, create more cooperation opportunities and models, and promote a wider and deeper pattern of opening up.

During the symposium, the Belt and Road International Cooperation Science and Technology Innovation Base, jointly established by the Xi'an High-tech Zone and the China Science Center of International Eurasian Academy of Sciences, was unveiled.

Relying on the EEF, the Xi'an High-tech Zone will continue to optimize its innovation environment, attract high-level talents for innovation and entrepreneurship, promote the integration of innovation chains, industrial chains, capital chains, and talent chains, and bring new opportunities for the development of technological innovation.

During the meeting, scientists and entrepreneurs from both China and abroad focused on such topics as self-reliance in hard & core technology, the cultivation of the technological innovation ecosystem, and the development of technological industry clusters. They delivered keynote speeches and engaged in discussions and exchanges of ideas. They also released major technological research achievements in such fields as microelectronics and semiconductors, information science and technology, network intelligence, economics and data science, and science and technology education.
