LONGi Green Energy Technology Co., Ltd. has announced the official start of production at its Serendah Module Plant in Selangor, Malaysia.
This project is a part of the company's solar manufacturing base in Malaysia. The launch of the Serendah Module plant marks a significant milestone in LONGi's international expansion and the realization of a complete photovoltaic industry chain in Malaysia.

The project, covering an area of 140 acres and costing MYR 1.8 billion (approximately $380 million), is LONGi's first manufacturing base in West Malaysia. It employs the most advanced technology, processes, and equipment in the solar industry and is being constructed in two phases, with a total capacity of 8.8 GW upon completion (2.8 GW in the first phase and 6 GW in the second phase).
With the successful launch of the first phase, the second phase has also commenced. It is estimated that the Serendah Module Plant will create over 2,000 job opportunities, with about 900 jobs already created during the first phase.
Since its overseas expansion in 2015, LONGi has been focused on localized development. Its involvement in Malaysia began in 2016, with the setup of solar manufacturing facilities in Kuching and Bintulu, including the world's first vertically integrated monocrystalline solar manufacturing facility.
To date, LONGi has invested approximately MYR 5.4 billion in the state of Sarawak. The company has also prioritized the hiring of local talent, with the number of employees in Malaysia increasing from 570 in 2016 to over 8,000 in 2023, of which 99.9% are Malaysian.
