Philippine press officials, journalists attend training in Guangxi

A 13-person delegation of Philippine press officials and journalists attended a training session in South China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region from May 29 to June 2.

Jointly held by the Research and Training Institute of the National Radio and Television Administration and the Guangxi Radio and Television Administration, the five-day training aimed to help the Philippine participants learn more about the history and development of the radio and television sectors in Guangxi as well as its rich and diverse ethnic cultures.

During their stay in Guangxi, the Philippine trainees paid a visit to the following offices: the Guangxi Radio and Television Station, Guangxi Radio and Television Network, China-ASEAN Cross-border Hosts Incubation Base, China-ASEAN Artificial Intelligence Film & Television Translation and Production Sci-tech Center, Nanning FZ Entertainment Cultural Communication Co Ltd, Guangxi Anthropology Museum, and the Guangxi Press, Publication, Broadcasting and Television Museum.

The Philippine delegation learned the practices taken by traditional radio and television institutions in Guangxi to promote the integration between conventional and new media outlets. They held talks with relevant departments of Guangxi about the development strategies of media organizations, press coverage and international exchanges as well as cooperation amid media integration, the development approaches of cable television, and the operation and management models of media agencies.

When visiting China-ASEAN Cross-border Hosts Incubation Base, the Philippine delegation experienced the operation of cross-border e-commerce livestream business and expressed willingness to achieve bilateral cooperation.

The Philippine delegation also attended the opening ceremony of the ASEAN-China Youth Hosts Camp (Season 3) in Guilin.
