LONGi launches ‘Lighthouse Initiative’
On May 23, the inauguration ceremony of LONGi Green Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (LONGi)'s "Lighthouse Initiative" was held in the Jiaxing High-Tech Zone, Zhejiang province.
LONGi plans to extend the smart and digitalized experiences of its globally renowned "Lighthouse Factory" at the LONGi Jiaxing Base to 38 production sites worldwide.
The "Lighthouse Factory" has been hailed as the "most advanced factory in the world," representing the pinnacle of intelligent manufacturing and digitalization in the global manufacturing sector.
On December 14 last year, the World Economic Forum announced a new batch of "Lighthouse Factories," with the LONGi Jiaxing Base becoming the sole factory in the global photovoltaic industry to make the prestigious list.
Following the establishment of the "Lighthouse Factory," the product quality and reliability of the Jiaxing Base increased by 43%, product production and delivery cycle shortened by 84%, energy consumption per unit decreased by 20%, and unit-hour output increased by 35%.
"In the past, the focus of the photovoltaic industry has been on enhancing solar power generation efficiency. However, as the industry approaches the efficiency ceiling, we believe the next battleground will be who can best and most swiftly meet customer needs while efficiently delivering products," stated Zhang Haimeng, vice president of LONGi.
To achieve this, the LONGi Jiaxing Base has implemented over 30 independently developed digital use cases, leveraging new technologies such as industrial internet, big data, artificial intelligence, and digital twins on a large scale.
"The 'Lighthouse Standard' has reshaped the entire production process, making production extremely reliable, which is the best embodiment of new quality productivity," remarked Wang Xiaofan, global managing partner at McKinsey & Company.
