Taiwan film Huai Nan Hai acclaimed by Chinese mainland audience
On May 29, the film Huai Nan Hai was shown at the 15th Cross-Strait Film Exhibition in Ya'an, Sichuan province.
This is the debut feature film by the emerging Taiwanese director Yu Jhi Han.
The film revolves around teenage crime, unraveling the truth behind collective crimes through a kidnapping case, depicting the conflicting entanglements of "bad" boys who crave love but struggle with their feelings for girls.
"The scene in this film impressed the audience the most is when the little girl stole a phone to fit in with her brother's group," said an audience. "It's just like what the director mentioned at the post-screening meeting, that the issues of teenagers are actually issues stemming from their family backgrounds. Watching this movie will prompt us to contemplate the influence of family education on teenagers."
