Tongchuan advances new era of intelligent manufacturing in aluminum industry
Tongchuan, once a coal-centric industrial hub in the northern part of Shaanxi province in Northwest China, has set forth an ambitious plan to pioneer new frontiers in intelligent manufacturing within the aluminum industry.
To spearhead this transformative initiative, the city hosted the Enterprise Independent Innovation Service Action and the Second Tongchuan Aluminum Industry Development Conference on August 13 in its burgeoning new district. The event carried the theme "Empowering the Aluminum Industry through New Intelligent Manufacturing Cooperation for a Mutual 'Aluminum' Journey."
A total of 30 projects were formally inked during the conference, comprising 10 industrial ventures amounting to 3.329 billion yuan ($0.47 billion) and 20 procurement and sales projects totaling 8.922 billion yuan.
Li Jiuhong, secretary of the Communist Party of China Tongchuan Municipal Committee, highlighted Tongchuan's robust industrial foundation, ample energy resources, and strategic geographical advantages in his speech. He emphasized the city's commitment to elevating the aluminum industry as a cornerstone for high-quality development, with the vision of positioning Tongchuan as a premier hub for top-tier aluminum production, strategically endorsed and prioritized by the province.
Zhang Kangning, deputy director of Shaanxi Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, underscored the pivotal role of the aluminum industry within Shaanxi province, announcing plans for an innovative cluster initiative aimed at nurturing a billion-yuan aluminum-magnesium lightweight materials sector, with ambitions to surpass a 100-billion-yuan output value by 2030. Shaanxi's strategy for advancing the aluminum and magnesium industry focuses on innovation-driven growth to bolster industry competitiveness, sustainable and intelligent development to enhance industrial quality, and leveraging domestic market demand to create a symbiotic cycle of supply and demand.
The conference featured expert presentations on three key themes: "Aluminum Alloy and Additive Manufacturing," "Pursuing Deep Integration of Independent Innovation and Research with Production to Accelerate High-Quality Development of the Aluminum Industry in Shaanxi Province," and "Expediting the Cultivation of Novel High-Quality Productivity to Propel the High-Quality Development of China's Aluminum Industry."
