The China Film Foundation's Be Seen Youth Entrepreneurship Committee inaugurated a new base on Aug 18 in Yucun village, Anji county, Huzhou.
The base will specialize in script creation and film production, providing comprehensive support in the form of funding, publicity, accommodation, and transportation services.
The inauguration took place during a conference that focused on the convergence of the film and television industry with various sectors in the village. Hosted by the China Film Foundation, the event provided a platform for discussions on the deep integration of film and television with culture and tourism, artificial intelligence technology, talent development, and more.
The conference also featured the premiere of an Anji artificial intelligence short promotional film, the introduction of a film and television tourism route in Anji by China Youth Travel Service, and the launch of a micro-short film focusing on youth seeking entrepreneurship or employment in the county.
Anji has recently emerged as a popular filming location, having served as the backdrop for blockbuster films such as Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, The Banquet, and Pegasus, with several new projects in the pipeline. The county is famed nationally for its high afforestation rate and photogenic rural landscapes, a result of its commitment to green development guided by the philosophy that "Lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets".
The natural beauty of Anji as a "holistic green shooting location", coupled with the expertise of the China Film Foundation, is poised to attract a fresh wave of young creatives, fostering the production of exceptional film and television works in the region, as noted by a spokesperson from the local government.
