2024 CCF ChinaSoft held to promote development in software related fields
The 2024 CCF ChinaSoft conference, held in Xi'an, Shaanxi province, over the weekend, brought together more than 2,400 scholars, educators, students, and industry professionals from both domestic and international software-related fields to delve into intelligent software innovation.
The event aimed to propel the advancement of high-quality productivity, foster exploration of fresh concepts in software-related domains, present cutting-edge academic research trends and technological breakthroughs, and provide a platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration among academia, education, and industry in the software sector.
This prestigious gathering was hosted by the Chinese Computer Society (CCF) and organized by the CCF Software Engineering Committee, System Software Committee, Formal Methods Committee, and Xidian University.
The event was orchestrated by the School of Computer Science and Technology at Xidian University, a national exemplar in software education, in collaboration with the Xi'an Key Laboratory of Intelligent Software Engineering, with substantial backing from the Xi'an High-tech Zone Management Committee.
The conference's opening ceremony, held on November 16th in Xi'an High-tech Zone, a prominent hub for technological advancement in China, was graced by Xi'an Mayor Ye Niuping.

Ye emphasized the critical role of high-precision software as a cornerstone for nurturing new quality productivity and driving the digital economy. Ren Xiaolong, the Secretary of the Party Committee at Xidian University, highlighted the pivotal role of software in modern information technology, emphasizing its significance in fostering economic growth and technological prowess. Ren expressed Xidian University's dedication to software innovation and its aspiration to leverage the conference as a platform for enhanced collaboration with industry experts and scholars to further enrich the software landscape and contribute to regional economic and social progress.
Chen Hui, director of the Xi'an High-tech Zone Management Committee, lauded the conference's venue, noting the growth of distinctive software enterprises in the region, which have emerged as trailblazers in software innovation. He emphasized the conference's role in propelling the software industry's development within the Xi'an High-tech Zone.
Academician Mei Hong, a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, elucidated the National Natural Science Foundation of China's major research program, "Basic Research on Intelligent Software for Human-Machine and Object Integration." Mei Hong underscored the project's significance in addressing evolving software technology trends and national demands for key software solutions, urging nationwide software peers to actively engage in and contribute to the project's research and development efforts.
The conference featured 44 parallel forums spanning seven categories, encompassing a diverse array of topics such as industrial software, embedded software, open-source software, software validation, basic models, AIGC, cloud-native technologies, and large-scale models. Distinguished academicians and technical experts shared insights on scientific research achievements and technological advancements in software-related fields.

The conference also hosted the inaugural Software Defect Automatic Repair Competition, Cangjie Programming Offline Challenge, and Software Research Achievement Prototype System Competition, recognizing excellence in various categories. Noteworthy awards were presented, including the Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Incentive Program (2024) and accolades for System Software Achievements, Formal Method Achievements, and Outstanding Projects of the Populus euphratica Foundation.
Looking ahead, the 2025 CCF China Software Conference is slated to be hosted by Wuhan University, promising further advancements and collaborations in the dynamic field of software development.
