As the sky gets dark, people can see a colorful nighttime landscape from the Jiangxinzhou Bridge on the hinge of the Yangtze River.

The Jiangxinzhou Yangtze River Bridge, which connects the Jiangbei New Area, the Jiangxinzhou Island and the Hexi New City area in Nanjing, Jiangsu province, is a great place to view the colorful and various landscape lights. In addition to regular streetlights, the red, yellow, blue, green and white breathing landscape lights illuminate the main towers and stay cables of the bridge when night falls.

At night, photography enthusiasts, journalists and others come to enjoy and take photos of the night view of the bridge.

The Jiangxinzhou Yangtze River Bridge is a key project in the planning and construction of the comprehensive three-dimensional transportation corridor in the state-level Yangtze River Economic Belt. As the seventh bridge above the Yangtze River, it serves as an important link connecting the main city area of Nanjing in the south of the Yangtze River with the new main city in the north.

The bridge is constructed in a "bridge + tunnel" mode. It starts at Wuliqiao in Pukou district, crosses the Yangtze River in the form of a three-tower cable-stayed bridge, passes the Jiangxin Island, and seamlessly connects the under-river Jiangshan Avenue Tunnel in Jianye district. The total length of the route is approximately 10.3 kilometers. The length of the bridge is 4.4 kilometers, with a main span of 1,796 meters, featuring three towers and two spans, both with a length of 600 meters. It is designed as a dual six-lane bridge with a speed limit of 100 kilometers per hour. Construction began in April 2017, with the bridge opening to traffic in December 2020. It is the world's first light steel-concrete composite structure tower cable-stayed bridge and also the domestically-manufactured bridge with the highest degree of industrialization and prefabrication for an extra-large span cable-stayed bridge.

CCCC Second Harbor Engineering Company took part in the construction of bridge sections XD-3, A1, C1, as well as the joint section B1. The construction scope included the installation of central towers, northern towers, corresponding composite beam installations, construction of north and south approach bridges, and the mainline bridge of the northern connection line. The company was mainly involved in the research and application of key technologies and materials such as steel shell-concrete composite towers, coarse aggregate active powder concrete, and other innovative technologies and construction processes.

These innovations have been praised by the International Association for Bridge and Structural Engineering's review committee. The bridge won the 2022 International Bridge Association "Outstanding Bridge Structure Award," the "2022 Global Best Project Award" from Engineering News-Record magazine, and the 2022 China Highway and Transportation Society "Bridge Engineering Innovation First Prize," among others.

The bridge is open to the public free of charge. It is connected with the Nanjing Yangtze River Second Bridge, the ring road and the Jiangbei Avenue, forming a closed loop of the Nanjing urban expressway and promoting the integrated development of the Nanjing metropolitan area and the Ningyang urban area. This connectivity also improves the layout of national trunk highways and river-crossing channels in the downstream of the Yangtze River region.
