Xi'an records robust foreign trade growth in Jan-Nov
Guanzhong Customs reported that Xi'an's foreign trade value reached 376.51 billion yuan ($51.58 billion) from January to November, accounting for 90 percent of Shaanxi province's total foreign trade and marking a 15.6 percent year-on-year increase. This growth outpaced the national average by 10.7 percentage points.
During the period, exports surged to 253.52 billion yuan, a 21.3 percent increase, while imports rose to 122.99 billion yuan, up 5.5 percent.

Xi'an's trade with major partners also grew significantly. Trade with South Korea and ASEAN reached 75.88 billion yuan and 59.65 billion yuan, up 26 percent and 13.6 percent, respectively. Trade with Vietnam soared by 140 percent, totaling 16.68 billion yuan, while trade with Brazil grew by 57.7 percent to 9.78 billion yuan.
The city's trade with countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative totaled 220.19 billion yuan, a 26.5 percent increase, representing 58.5 percent of Xi'an's total trade.
Foreign-invested enterprises led with 220.61 billion yuan in trade value, up 30 percent, followed by private enterprises with 138.18 billion yuan and State-owned enterprises with 16.28 billion yuan.
Mechanical and electrical product exports dominated, reaching 226.59 billion yuan, up 22.6%, driven by electronics, automobiles, and electric vehicles. Agricultural products and steel also saw notable export growth.
On the import side, mechanical and electrical products reached 86.34 billion yuan, up 14.1 percent, with electronics leading the way. Imports of metal ores, coal, and agricultural products also showed solid growth.
Xi'an port witnessed a significant surge in inbound and outbound traffic, with over 1.3 million people as of Dec 19, a 121 percent increase year-on-year.
More than 9,600 inbound and outbound flights were processed, a 76 percent increase from the previous year.
