Dazzling Chang'an Lantern Festival to begin soon

The highly anticipated 2025 Chang'an Lantern Festival will soon light up Xi'an with a stunning visual feast to celebrate the upcoming Year of the Snake. With countless snake-themed lanterns under preparation, the festival promises a dazzling display of color and light.

The festival will be held in multiple venues. Visitors can expect an immersive Chinese New Year celebration featuring various cultural events and activities.

Chang'an Lantern Festival at Tang Paradise

Date: Jan 22-March 16

This 54-day event will feature 40 lantern displays across five themed zones, recreating the lively atmosphere of the Lantern Festival. Tang Paradise will blend traditional customs with cultural performances, interactive experiences, and local delicacies, offering a unique journey through the ancient traditions of the Tang Dynasty (618-907).

Chang'an Lantern Festival at Xi'an City Wall

Date: Jan 22-March 9

The 2025 Xi'an City Wall Lantern Festival will center around five key cultural themes: Tang poetry, cultural relics, zodiac signs, New Year celebrations, and performing arts. The event will feature five major lantern zones displaying the flourishing Tang Dynasty (618-907) and Xi'an's vibrant modern development.

The lantern displays will incorporate elements from 38 national-level cultural treasures, reflecting China's deep cultural heritage and artistic beauty.

The scenic area will host five major themed activities, including a Tang poetry challenge and lantern riddle guessing. Sixty exciting performances will be staged daily from Jan 29 to Feb 3, ensuring tourists visiting the city wall during the day can also enjoy the vibrant festive atmosphere in the evening.

Chang'an Lantern Festival at Daming Palace National Heritage Park

Date: Jan 22-March 16

The event will present 13 large lantern displays based on the history and cultural significance of the Daming Palace, creating a festive atmosphere with a touch of imperial elegance.

2nd Shijingli Chinese Style Cultural Carnival

Date: Jan 1-Feb 16

This year's carnival features a variety of national-level intangible cultural heritage exhibits, including over a dozen stunning creative lantern displays from Zigong that will light up every evening at 5:30 pm. The event in Shijingli town is divided into four main themes. Visitors can enjoy the beautiful lanterns while immersing themselves in rich cultural traditions, presenting a unique and festive celebration of the Chinese New Year.
