Maweiyi new year festival set to open
The inaugural Maweiyi New Year Lantern and Folk Culture Festival opens on Jan 27th.
The event will feature five main themed areas: Silk Road Style, Dreamy Floral Scenes, Cute Pet Paradise, Retro Market, and Intangible Cultural Heritage Performances, allowing visitors to travel back in time to the Tang Dynasty and experience a breathtaking visual feast and cultural journey alongside the ancient city.
During the cultural festival, a series of splendid traditional arts performances, including the precious intangible cultural heritage "Iron Flower", will also be showcased.
As one of the ancient Silk Road relay stations, Maweiyi has witnessed numerous scenes of commercial and cultural exchanges. This event aims to leverage Maweiyi's rich historical and cultural heritage to create a new spring folk culture event brand with a Silk Road theme, providing a unique spring consumption experience that integrates tourism, entertainment and shopping for visitors to experience the distinctive charm of Tang culture.
The festival will run until February 28.
