LONGi updates world record for PV cell conversion efficiency
LONGi Green Energy Technology Co announced on April 11 that its independently developed hybrid back contact crystalline silicon solar cell's HIBC photovoltaic conversion efficiency has reached 27.81 percent, setting a new world record.
The German Hamelin Institute of Solar Energy (ISFH) certified this achievement, which pushes the exploration of the limits of single-crystal silicon photovoltaic cells to new heights.
The conversion efficiency of solar cells is related to the cost per kilowatt hour. In November 2022, LONGi set a world record for 26.81 percent conversion efficiency of crystalline silicon solar cells, marking the first time a Chinese company set a world record in this field. In May 2024, the company raised this record to 27.3 percent, followed by consecutive breakthroughs of 27.4 percent, 27.52 percent, and 27.63 percent.
LONGi has become a leading enterprise in the photovoltaic industry with its technological innovation. Continuously breaking this world record shows the technological strength of China's photovoltaic enterprises and helps to enhance China's confidence and determination to lead the world in more technological fields.
