Henan Nanyang: Live-line work showcases expertise, regional collaboration prepares for summer peak
On May 20, State Grid Nanyang Power Supply Company orchestrated a synchronized effort with Xichuan Company, Dengzhou Company, and Xixia Company to execute a unified live-line operation in the region.

A medium-voltage generator vehicle and two live-line work vehicles were deployed for switch installations on the 10-kilovolt Donggong No. 5 line in Xichuan Company's urban area, ensuring uninterrupted power supply. The medium-voltage generator vehicle successfully transferred an 800-kilowatt load across 10 transformer districts, guaranteeing "zero power outage" for 2,123 households.
Since the start of 2025, State Grid Nanyang Power Supply Company has prioritized addressing key challenges such as improving core operational skills at the grassroots level, enhancing independent maintenance and construction capabilities, and optimizing complex operational procedures.
The company has conducted multiple rounds of technical reviews, training sessions, and skills competitions in various professional domains. Through these initiatives, operational skills and capabilities for independent maintenance and construction at the grassroots level have been significantly bolstered.
The collaborative live-line operation exemplifies a successful trial showcasing the need for joint efforts in executing complex operations that surpass the capabilities of individual county-level companies. It signifies a collective stride towards advancing distribution network automation, fortifying line self-healing capacities, reducing power outage durations, minimizing user disruptions, and elevating power supply reliability.

The framework for regional joint operations in complex live-line work has now been formalized and ingrained. Going forward, county-level companies will harness the benefits of regional coordination to bolster maintenance techniques and personnel proficiency collaboratively. All live-line operations meeting the necessary criteria within the coordinated area will be fully executed, aiming to propel distribution network automation and comprehensive self-healing capabilities, optimize the role of distribution automation, alleviate operational burdens at the grassroots level, and enhance power supply reliability.
