Seeking summer coolness amid Guyuan's green embrace

Much of China during the sanfu period, the hottest part of summer based on the Chinese calendar, making Guyuan in Ningxia Hui autonomous region a sought-after summer retreat due to its 18 C summer weather. Tourists from across the country are flocking to the city. Meteorological data shows Guyuan enjoys an average of 88.3 days of pleasant summer temperatures and 78.9 days suitable for tourism.

Focusing on food, accommodation, and travel, Guyuan has created a new blueprint for "cool" resources tourism. 

The Liupan Mountain National Forest Park in Jingyuan county is an ideal escape, with its consistently refreshing climate. The city also blends culture and leisure, hosting original music festivals and mountain trail runs.

Visitors can take in the scenery and experience rural life through local delicacies like Jingyuan beef pastries. The tourism boom has also revitalized the lodging industry – with villagers converting unused courtyards into homestays. One popular site in Xuezhuang village is often fully booked. Agritourism thrives as guests enjoy fresh produce and authentic countryside flavors.
