The plant is the main source of tap water for local residents, and even minor electrical failures could disrupt distribution. Crews inspected high-voltage lines, switchgear, and transformers, using infrared imaging to check temperatures at terminals and connection points. Backup power systems were also tested, with staff reviewing maintenance logs and confirming that emergency generators can operate immediately if needed.

Technicians met with plant managers to assess current loads and forecast future demand. They also provided energy-efficiency recommendations and reinforced safety protocols for daily operations.

"The water plant cannot tolerate interruptions during summer peaks", a plant manager said. "The inspection and guidance from the power company greatly reduce risks and strengthen our ability to maintain continuous service".

State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power said it will extend similar inspections to hospitals, schools, wastewater plants, and other essential facilities. Emergency power plans are being updated, and additional on-site services will be provided to reduce hidden risks and improve the reliability of electricity for critical infrastructure.
