Guyuan leverages potato industry to promote global cooperation

Guyuan, a major potato-producing base in Northwest China's Ningxia Hui autonomous region, has invited global partners to help the city promote the high-quality development of its potato industry.

The 2025 Snow Valley Global Partners Event in Guyuan, Ningxia, themed "Global Potato Chain, Growing a Brighter Future", was held in Guyuan on Sept 9 and 10, bringing together over 200 participants including domestic and international experts, renowned entrepreneurs, representatives from international organizations, global distributors, executives from Snowvalley Agriculture Group and local officials. 

Addressing the opening ceremony, Hua Zhimin, secretary of the Communist Party of China Guyuan Municipal Committee, said that the event will be a catalyst for the high-quality development of Guyuan's potato sector. The city seeks to optimize its business environment, deepen practical cooperation across the entire chain, and help potato enterprises enhance quality, scale, and brand influence, Hua said.

Wang Dengshe, chairman of Snow Valley Agriculture Group, said that the event serves as a platform to introduce the "Guyuan Potato" brand to the international stage, attracting global capital and advanced technologies to the region.

Snow Valley Agriculture Group is committed to collaborating with global partners to seize opportunities and achieve mutual success in the high-quality development of Guyuan's potato industry, according to Wang.

Guyuan, home to 21 potato processing enterprises, boasts a 300-year history of potato cultivation. It is a crucial base for virus-free seed potato breeding, commercial potato production, and potato product processing in the country, with an annual potato output of 1.25 million tons.
