The third Liupan Mountains Red Culture Tourism Festival kicked off at the Jiangtaibao Red Army Long March Memorial Park in Xiji county, Guyuan, Ningxia Hui autonomous region, on Sept 17.
As the endpoint of the Red Army Long March and China's only comprehensive old revolutionary base, Guyuan leverages its rich red tourism resources by launching ten meticulously designed self-drive red tourism routes.
These routes connect key historical landmarks such as the Liupan Mountains Red Army Long March Tourist Attraction, the Jiangtaibao Memorial Park, and Hongya village in Longde county, forming a tourism network that blends red historical memory, ecological sightseeing, and rural experiences.
The event featured exhibitions of specialty agricultural products and cultural tourism promotions, with three main zones attracting large crowds: the Red Culture Food Corridor offered delicious dishes such as warm pot and steak, the Agricultural Specialty Products Exhibition showcased local specialties like Liupanshan beef, and the Red Memory Intangible Cultural Heritage and Creative Exhibition displayed exquisite handicrafts such as embroidery, paper-cutting, and root carving, enticing visitors to stop and experience them firsthand.
Additionally, the event held a donation ceremony for the "Pomegranate Bookhouse", establishing a cultural platform for three primary and secondary schools in Guyuan to pass on the legacy of red culture.
The tourism festival will run until Oct 13, during which time a series of ten activities, including red culture study tours and themed lectures, will be held.
