The Guyuan promotion conference for agriculture, culture, and tourism integration and Liupanshan specialty products kicked off in Suzhou, Jiangsu province, on Oct 18, enhancing the economic and trade cooperation between the northwestern Chinese Ningxia Hui autonomous region and East China's Jiangsu province.

The beef, potato noodles, and related agricultural and sideline products and local produce attracted many local residents at the promotion event, as the booths were usually crowded with guests trying out the new products.

"These are the common food that Guyuan locals eat every day. We never expected them to be so popular in Suzhou," said a business representative from Guyuan attending the event.

Hua Zhimin, Party secretary of Guyuan city, said Suzhou and Guyuan are both millennium-old cities, hometowns of literature, and spiritual highlands.

"Step into Guyuan, tourists can stroll through its streets and lanes, and savor the delicious food that is rare to taste outside the city", Hua said.

Hua expects Guyuan and Suzhou would advance ties in the months to come.

Located in the golden 35 degrees northern latitude zone, Guyuan is endowed with the most authentic foundation for its food ingredients.

In addition to beef and potatoes, chicken, wild honey, and red plum apricot are all common on the locals' dining tables.
