E763 highway's Preljina-Pozega section opens

The Preljina-Pozega section of the E763 highway opened to traffic on July 5, 2025. Project manager Zhang Qiangwei with excitement noted that this 30.2-kilometer section was the most challenging part of the project, featuring 12 km of tunnels and over 40 bridges.

Preparations for the project began in 2020, but progress was slow due to the pandemic and land acquisition issues. In March 2021, the client demanded that its priority section be completed by the end of the year, compressing the original three-year time limit into just nine months. The 11 km priority section included a 598-meter open-cut tunnel, 14 bridges, and a 10.7 km roadbed construction section.

Faced with this task, the project team proposed a "parallel work, segmented completion" construction model. They divided the priority section into five parts, each managed by a section leader responsible for the cycle of "dumping, leveling, compaction, and inspection".

The transportation issue was addressed as well. The team set up passing lanes and designed loop roads, increasing the number of transport vehicles from 15 to 142 and boosting daily transport volume to 13,600 cubic meters. Project materials manager Zhang Xianliang introduced an "hourly scheduling" system to ensure precise delivery of materials to key spots.

The project was completed on schedule, setting a new "Chinese speed" record in Serbian engineering construction. At the opening ceremony, the project team took pride in their efforts for completing this nine-month "extreme challenge".
