Changsha county boosts culture, technology, tourism integration development

Changsha county in Hunan province is driving high-quality development through the integration of culture with technology and tourism, with local enterprises supplying innovative equipment for major national events.

A 1,600-square-meter flexible "paper stage" produced by local enterprise Minghe Group made its stunning debut at the closing ceremony of the 15th National Games.

Utilizing Changsha's strength as the "City of Construction Machinery", Changsha county has developed a full industrial chain for cultural equipment. Minghe Group has applied aerospace support technology to stage design and resolved key technical challenges. Its technology innovation center for theater and performance equipment was approved in 2025.

Another local company, Hongrui Wenbo Group, has supplied intelligent digital display cases and integrated relic storage management platforms for museums. Its cultural equipment has been used in major events and venues worldwide.

In terms of cultural-tourism integration, the county has fully capitalized on its revolutionary heritage, industrial resources and natural scenery. Fulin town has developed programs focusing on red tourism and ecological leisure. Kaihui town has introduced innovative farmland experience projects. The Qingkai Line, which connects various towns, was named one of China's "Top 10 Most Beautiful Rural Roads" in 2023 and attracts over 300,000 visits each year. The county's national-level industrial tourism sites, including the SANY Intelligent Heavy Truck Industrial Park, received 573,000 tourists and generated 58.7 million yuan ($8.5 million) in revenue in the first three quarters of 2025.

Officials said digital and intelligent innovations have spurred new business models, such as immersive performances and smart tourism, injecting new growth drivers while achieving both cultural and economic benefits.
