Marking the 30th anniversary of the Fujian‑Ningxia partnership, a series of events were launched on July 3 in Pengyang county, Guyuan, Ningxia Hui autonomous region, to celebrate the opening of the 2026 red apricot harvest season and boost consumption. The events will run through July 31.

Buyers, supermarket chains, and e‑commerce representatives from across the nation shared procurement criteria, market trends, and partnership models. Suppliers engaged directly with buyers.

The event drew 136 merchants from Beijing, Guangdong, Fujian, Jiangsu, and Ningxia itself, including 17 Fujian‑based firms, further demonstrating the success of east‑west cooperation in benefiting farmers. The event resulted in the signing of 20 cooperation agreements and on‑site orders for over 400 metric tons of red apricots.

The lively negotiation atmosphere carried over to the exhibition, featuring 44 apricot growers and cooperatives and over 70 food enterprises. They showcased dried apricots, strips, and other processed goods, plus grains, honey, meats, and chili sauce.

As a highlight of the opening event, a specialty food competition was held, with 70 local food vendors using local ingredients and red apricots to create innovative dishes.

At the Chen'gou village apricot orchards, merchants and visitors ventured into the groves, picking fresh fruit and experiencing the vibrant summer harvest.

Through site visits, live streaming, and short videos, the event presented the full journey of Pengyang's local produce from farm to consumer, helping these quality products find their way to broader markets.
