Xi'an company empowers space-based communication
A Long March 6C rocket lifted off on Aug 25 from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center, carrying a rideshare manifest of seven satellites, including Zhongke‑14 and Zhongke‑15.
The two SAR satellites are equipped with spaceborne fiber amplifiers developed by Xi'an Zhongke Aerospace Photonics Technology Co. The equipment is a core standalone unit of inter-satellite laser communication terminals. Primarily tasked with amplifying optical signal power, it ensures stable, reliable inter-satellite laser communication links with low-bit-error transmission and enables high-speed exchange of massive space-based data.
Based in Xi'an Hi‑tech Zone, the company was founded in August 2025 and focuses on the R&D, manufacturing, and supply of aerospace‑grade components for satellite laser communications.
Yuan Yafei, the company's general manager, said the company is building an integrated full-link product system and advancing domestic production of core devices, components, and standalone units for satellite laser communications, contributing to the high-quality development of China's commercial space industry and satellite internet.
