The immersive XR film Confucius: The Golden Kite Odyssey has officially opened to the public at the Confucius Museum in Qufu, Jining, Shandong.

As China's first XR epic inspired by the journeys of Confucius, the film recreates a perilous episode from his travels across the ancient states. Using state-of-the-art XR technology, it transports viewers aboard a golden wooden kite through the turbulent Spring and Autumn Period (770-476 BC).

The experience unfolds across eight cinematic acts, guided by the five Confucian virtues — benevolence, righteousness, propriety, wisdom, and trustworthiness. From a night banquet to the soaring flight of the golden kite, each scene is vividly brought to life through immersive technology.

As an offline immersive extension of the Confucius digital intelligence model independently developed by Shandong Digital Culture Group, the film combines online intellectual dialogue with offline historical immersion. It reimagines Confucius as a vivid, adaptive figure deeply concerned for the people, offering a new digital paradigm for revitalizing traditional Chinese culture.

At the event, a new cultural digitalization initiative was officially launched, marking the project's evolution from a single film into a broader, multi-faceted IP ecosystem, and from a localized initiative to an integrated, nationwide operation.

A strategic cooperation signing ceremony for the film's national distribution was also held at the launch, bringing together multiple partners to expand its reach and bring Confucius: The Golden Kite Odyssey to audiences across the country.
