Built by Shaanxi Electric Power Transmission and Transformation Co, the Tumen substation is an indoor facility equipped with three 50-megavolt-ampere main transformers, four 110-kV outgoing circuits and 36 10-kV outgoing circuits. Space has also been reserved for an additional 110-kV circuit.
The facility is expected to ease the load on nearby substations, improve power supply reliability, and better support households, businesses, and commercial operations during the summer peak.
During construction, the project team faced tight deadlines and alternating periods of extreme heat and heavy rain. To keep the project on schedule, workers adjusted outdoor work hours during hot weather and strengthened safety inspections during rainstorms.
The project also incorporated green construction practices, including dust suppression systems, prefabricated steel structures, and energy-efficient office facilities. Standardized procedures and mechanized equipment improved construction efficiency and safety.
The company will continue to address outstanding issues and strengthen equipment maintenance to ensure the substation operates safely and reliably.
