CCCC engineers join Maldives National Engineers' Day event
The Maldives has recently hosted its National Engineers' Day event.
Abdullah Muththalib, minister of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development of the Maldives, and Kong Xianhua, Chinese Ambassador to the Maldives, attended the event, alongside industry representatives and local residents. Young engineers from China Communications Construction Co (CCCC), wearing branded blue vests, provided on-site support and facilitated exchanges.
During the event, Muththalib unveiled the official logo for National Engineers' Day. In the urban development session, Muththalib and Kong discussed infrastructure upgrades, long-term urban planning, and practical China-Maldives infrastructure cooperation. The event also featured a dedicated booth for the China-Maldives Friendship Bridge, where CCCC engineers shared the bridge's construction story, routine maintenance, safety measures, and future improvement plans.
Interactive activities, including bridge design workshops and Chinese food tasting, were arranged for local adults and children. CCCC has been involved in the construction, operation, technical transfer, and local talent training for the China-Maldives Friendship Bridge.
Going forward, CCCC will continue to advance infrastructure projects in the Maldives and deepen bilateral cooperation.
