Xi'an, Shaanxi province, commissioned a new 110-kilovolt bay at Yaoshan Road substation on July 21, helping redistribute loads, improve power transfer capacity, and ensure reliable electricity for nearby residents and businesses.
In Xianyang, staff members advanced a mobile substation project at the 110-kV Qindu substation, installing key equipment to ease local grid pressure and improve emergency power supply.
Digital technology also played a key role. In Weinan, a remote monitoring platform enabled round-the-clock surveillance of transmission lines, using intelligent devices to detect potential hazards such as wildfire smoke and foreign objects. Drone inspections provided additional support for verifying alerts and responding to risks.
Meanwhile, power workers across Shaanxi used infrared thermometers and smart monitoring systems to inspect equipment and detect hazards. In Ziyang county, Ankang, local teams provided targeted services to residential communities and small businesses, while Qishan county in Baoji developed tailored emergency power supply plans for residential complexes.
The measures combined grid upgrades, digital monitoring, and community-based services to improve power reliability and safeguard households and businesses during the summer heat.
