Chongqing Rail Transit Line 18 completes main structure

The main structure of Caiyuanlu Station Station, Dapingxi Station, and Huangshaxi Station on the northern extension of Chongqing Rail Transit Line 18 has passed sectional acceptance. This paves the way for auxiliary structure construction and track laying.

Stretching 10.61 kilometers, the northern extension runs from Xiaoshizi Station to Fuhualu Station with eight stations, serving central Yuzhong district. CCCC Second Harbor Engineering Co builds Section 4, including the three stations and their auxiliary works.

Dapingxi Station and Huangshaxi Station are mined underground stations in interbedded sandstone and mudstone. Dapingxi Station is a Grade IV deep-buried tunnel with a maximum overburden of 62 meters and rock cover up to 58 meters.

Engineers adjusted construction plans to align with local geology and organized resources to keep progress on track. Once opened, the line will connect Hualongqiao, Daping, Caiyuanba, Shibati, Xiaoshizi, and other zones, ease traffic congestion, and support rail integration for the Yuzhong Peninsula and the Chengdu-Chongqing Twin-City Economic Circle.
