Wenshanzhou Bridge shifts work to above-water pile cap construction

The CCCC Second Harbor Engineering Co has shifted work on the Shuangfu Expressway Contract A1's Wenshanzhou Bridge from underwater piling to above-water pile cap construction by lowering the D-type steel hanging box cofferdam for Pier 10 to its design elevation.

As Fujian's largest steel hanging box cofferdam, it measures 48.6 meters × 24 meters × 9 meters and weighs 1,100 metric tons.

An intelligent lifting system with synchronized jacks kept displacement error under 15 millimeters, supported by total station and underwater guiding monitoring, with the 12.5-hour operation covering an 8-meter descent. Data from this deployment will guide the cofferdam installation for Pier 11.

The Shuangfu Expressway will cut travel time between central Fuzhou and Fuqing and upgrade regional highway connectivity.
