Quanzhou Jinyu Bridge completes mainline closure
The main span closure of Quanzhou Jinyu Bridge, built with participation from CCCC Second Harbor Engineering Co, was completed on Oct 10, marking full mainline connectivity.
This key Quanzhou project is the first of the city's three planned cross-river and cross-sea passages. Stretching 4.48 kilometers, it links Fengze district and the Quanzhou Taiwan Investment Zone across the Luoyang River.
The 320-meter main span is a long-span continuous girder bridge with eight traffic lanes and a 60-km-per-hour design speed, plus Wuyu and Luoxiu interchanges. CCCC Second Harbor undertakes the 2-km Contract A2. Teams overcame challenges including deep-water foundations, large girder casting, and typhoon-season constraints.
Work now shifts to deck works, asphalt paving, and traffic safety installations. About 400 workers are pushing toward a year-end opening target. The bridge will ease congestion on Luoyang River Bridge and Houzhu Bridge and boost cross-river integration.
