Shaanxi grid sees peak load jump 7.1% over National Day holiday
Shaanxi province's power grid maintained stable operations during the recent National Day holiday, with peak load reaching 29.81 million kilowatts from Oct 1 to 7, up 7.1 percent year-on-year.
To ensure a reliable power supply amid rising holiday demand, the company conducted comprehensive safety inspections at 592 key sites, including tourist attractions, transport hubs, major commercial complexes, and cable car facilities.
It also intensified transmission line inspections, substation maintenance, and distribution network defect rectification, while optimizing grid dispatch and strengthening operational monitoring to mitigate the impact of persistent rainfall.
The company deployed more than 1,700 power supply teams and mobilized 13,200 personnel to support holiday operations. A total of 281 emergency power supply vehicles and generators were dispatched, while 1,726 personnel were assigned to on-site support duties.
These measures helped ensure reliable electricity supplies at major tourist destinations in Xi'an including Datang Everbright City and Tang Paradise.
To facilitate green travel, the company inspected charging stations and associated facilities across the province before the holiday. During the break, 370 personnel shifts were arranged at key expressway charging stations, where staff members inspected more than 700 charging piles and assisted electric vehicle users.
The company also assigned more than 5,000 personnel to operational duties and over 2,000 to emergency repairs, with more than 500 repair vehicles, 200 emergency power supply vehicles, and 600 generators on standby.
