Xianyang power supplier strengthens grid reliability and customer service
Since the beginning of this year, State Grid Xianyang Power Supply has introduced a series of measures to safeguard grid security and improve public services, injecting sustained energy into Xianyang city's sound growth.
To ensure power supply for the 2026 National Camping Conference held in Binzhou, Shaanxi province, in August, the company made an emergency response plan in advance and organized operation and maintenance workers to carry out thorough inspections and eliminate safety risks.
During the event, some staff members were on duty 24 hours a day, with a generator vehicle kept on standby to tackle any potential power-supply problems.
Meanwhile, the campsite was divided into several zones for continuous equipment patrols. The event finally reported zero power supply failures, zero power flickers and zero customer complaints.
Since the flood season began in July, Xianyang has seen frequent heavy rain and strong convective winds, putting distribution network equipment under severe strain.
The company therefore coordinated power-supply resources across districts and counties and launched a special post-rain inspection and remediation program for grid equipment.
Based on grid operating patterns and weather conditions during the flood season, it improved its measures for flood control and power supply and upgraded grid operation and maintenance control standards.
The company has used a combination of drones and manual patrols to conduct comprehensive inspections of suburbs, mountainous areas, low-lying riverside areas and regions prone to geological disasters.
It also removed overgrown trees and floating debris, reinforced tower foundations eroded by rainwater, and stepped up testing and maintenance on moisture-sensitive equipment.
Focusing on public needs during the summer peak, the company continued to optimize its services, including the online service platform "Online State Grid", which allows users to handle electricity-related business such as service applications, bill payments, and account inquiries, anytime and anywhere, eliminating the need to visit a service center in person.
Additionally, staff members from the company visited local villages regularly to help residents check for electrical hazards and instruct them on how to use electricity in a standardized and safe manner.
During peak periods for agricultural equipment use, it conducted load monitoring and voltage quality tracking on agriculture-related distribution transformer supply zones to support farmers' production.
All of these efforts are aimed at enhancing the sense of gain, security and satisfaction of all users, said a representative from the company.
Next, State Grid Xianyang Power Supply will continue to firmly shoulder its responsibility for power supply, place emphasis on seasonal changes, weather conditions and local power demand, and push forward key tasks such as power supply for major events, flood control and disaster prevention, contributing to Xianyang's high-quality development.
