The Yinchuan Yellow River Chorus Festival kicked off at the China Flower Expo Garden in Jinfeng district, Yinchuan, Ningxia Hui autonomous region on Thursday. Over 20 outstanding choirs performed to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.

Titled “Frontier Lake City • Charming Jinfeng”, this year's chorus festival centered on the integration of culture and tourism, exploring the contemporary significance of Yellow River culture. The event also aimed to promote the combined development of culture and tourism in the circum-Yuehai Lake region while enhancing the district’s brand, "Frontier Lake City • Charming Jinfeng".

The inaugural performance at the opening event on Thursday night featured an opening film, a fashion show of Ningxia's intangible cultural heritage, the launch of the festival mascots, and a flash mob performance celebrating the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. A solo dance and impressive performances from children's, youth and elderly choirs stirred patriotic feelings among the audience.

The festival also featured a range of artistic activities, including an online choral exhibition, choral flash mobs, open choral training classes, coral festival competitions with expert reviews, interactive online voting and a special intangible cultural heritage market.
