In January 2026, Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) will convene its 16th Party congress. In anticipation of this significant event, a series of reports highlighting the university's achievements since the 15th Party congress in 2021 will be launched.

Between 2020 and 2025, Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) has improved its average national admission ranking from 1,979 to 1,132, marking a historic improvement in student quality and consistently placing the university in the top 10 nationwide for four consecutive years.

In 2022, BIT led in educational achievements, earning six national teaching awards for undergraduate education. The university boasts 58 programs in the Ministry of Education's "double first-class" initiative, 14 dual-degree programs, and four joint degree programs. BIT excelled in curricular innovation, with 95 courses recognized as national first-class and 13 award-winning textbooks.

BIT has established China's first "Virtual Simulation Teaching Center for Ideological and Political Courses" and received numerous national teaching accolades, including four national teaching masters and six Baosteel Education Awards. Its commitment to educational innovation is evident in its success in national teaching innovation competitions and its inclusion in the Ministry of Education's "AI + Higher Education" application initiative.

BIT pioneered the integration of cutting-edge technology and interdisciplinary education, launching 13 new programs in fields like intelligent manufacturing and artificial intelligence. The university emphasizes a cross-disciplinary model, enhancing student learning through innovative dual-degree programs such as "X + AI" and "X + dual carbon."

In terms of curriculum development, BIT has restructured its undergraduate programs to align with technological advancements and national strategies, introducing 13 new majors in emerging fields such as intelligent manufacturing and artificial intelligence. Its multidisciplinary approach integrates engineering, science, humanities, law, and management.
