The launch ceremony of port-industry-city integration projects signed between Shandong Port Group (SPG) and Rizhao in Shandong province was held at the North China consumer goods (Rizhao) distribution center on July 25.

The aggregated investment of the five major projects reached 22.8 billion yuan ($3.3 billion). These projects involve industries such as logistics, industrial parks and cultural cruise tours.

Zhang Hui, Party secretary of Rizhao, Huo Gaoyuan, Party secretary and chairman of the board of SPG and other officials from both Rizhao municipal government and the port group attended the event.

The consumer goods distribution center was constructed by Rizhao Port and SPG’s logistics group. The center’s planned area is 13.8 hectares, and it will be the largest and most complete logistics distribution center and logistics bonded center in southeast Shandong.

Li Fengli, deputy Party secretary and general manager of SPG, said that the cooperation between SPG and Rizhao municipal government is expected to greatly accelerate the construction of a "smart and green port" and boost port-industry-city integration.
