Shandong Port Group (SPG) Co Ltd, established on Aug 6, 2019 in Qingdao, East China's Shandong province is celebrating its first birthday.

"Born" in the astrological sign of Leo, SPG has the distinction of being just like Leo – generous, kind, extremely helpful and always in the spotlight.

The group consists of Qingdao Port, Yantai Port, Rizhao Port and Bohai Bay Port, and operates 16 major port areas and more than 300 production berths. It has more than 60,000 employees.

Since it was founded, SPG has accelerated "three integration developments" through synchronizing integrated reform with future planning and promotion.

Ambitious at work

SPG is a Leo full of great enterprise. It actively synergizes the national strategy of serving the country and the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), and takes East-West two-way economic cooperation and the linkage between the land and sea as its development path.

SPG had launched a new series of international cruise routes this year. The new routes will further increase SPG's port line density, expand the group's market layout and coverage in the countries and regions involved in the BRI, and speed up the ports' transformation and upgrading.

SPG has been building an international network with international ports both at home and aboard.

It joined hands with Tianjin Port, Hebei Port, Shanghai Port and Zhejiang Port Group, Busan Port, Incheon Port, the Port of Bremerton and other important ports at home and abroad as part of a global port and navigation ecosystem.

In a bid to become a strategic sea hub of the BRI, SPG has exerted all its energies on developing internationally advanced smart green ports and becoming a logistics hub, building up internationally advanced city-industry integration and providing internationally advanced financial and trade services.
