The 2020 Iron Ore Industry Development Summit Forum organized by Shandong Port Group (SPG) was held in Rizhao, Shandong province on Oct 29.

Zhang Hui, Party Secretary of Rizhao, Huo Gaoyuan, Party secretary and chairman of the board of SPG, Ding Yongmin, vice general manager of China Railway Jinan Group Co Ltd, Shi Yong, vice commissioner and first-level inspector of Qingdao Customs, and Zhu Junhong, chairman of Shanghai Ganglian Ecommerce Holdings Co Ltd, attended the event.

With a focus on "the economic dual-cycle of East and West China and new opportunities for internal and external linkage", the forum aimed to build a platform for exchange and dialogue in the iron ore industry, discuss the industry's current economic situation, consider market development opportunities, and better serve the concept of "new development pattern with domestic major cycles as the main body and domestic and international double cycles promoting each other".

Zhang Hui, in her speech, said that Rizhao owes its entire existence to the port, and that Rizhao port was created through mining. Especially since the establishment SPG's Rizhao Port, it has accelerated the port-industry-city integration, which has injected new vigor and vitality into Rizhao.

Huo said that basic and pivotal facilities are an important support for economic development and play an irreplaceable role in the new development pattern of " economic dual-cycle ".
