Giant ports operator Shandong Port Group, or SPG, was one of the major players taking center stage at the 4th China Enterprise Forum – which was held on Sept 23-24 in the city of Jinan, capital of East China's Shandong province – according to local media reports. 

The event attracted the participation of officials and the representatives of companies, institutions and business associations from home and abroad – both on-site and online – to discuss cooperation and to seek a common development.  

Huo Gaoyuan, Party secretary and chairman of the board of SPG – one of the biggest port operators in the world, based in the port city of Qingdao in Shandong – delivered a keynote speech.

Huo said that the Shandong government had rolled out a raft of measures to stimulate port hub development and SPG had strengthened its functions as shipping hub. He said SPG had played a positive role in serving national strategies, facilitating the transformation of old and new drivers, as well as ensuring the stability of industrial and supply chains. 

The chairman added that SPG would promote the in-depth development of port integration reforms, speed up its high-quality development and make contributions to the maritime province's progress.
