Fully loaded with large engineering equipment and steel structures weighing over 21,400 tons, the bulk cargo vessel Sunshine Tour recently headed off to Indonesia from Yantai Port – a subsidiary of Shandong Port Group or SPG, the global ports operator based in Qingdao city, in East China's Shandong province.

The voyage is expected to help exert a positive influence on the development of the China-backed Tsingshan industrial park, located in the Indonesia Comprehensive Industrial Park project.

Since the opening up of the Yantai-Indonesia bulk cargo route last October, it has welcomed its 23rd carrier, helping to guarantee its further stable operations.

January of 2022 also saw the achievement of 230,000 tons of bulk cargo off-loaded at Yantai Port, an increase of 150 percent year-on year.

The development of the bulk cargo business there is underscoring the gradual development of the route, as well as the enhancement of its services. It is expected help establish a solid and efficient platform for business and products with the "made in China" label – leading to a much closer connection between China and Southeast Asian countries.

Faced with the combined challenges of complex cargo types, as well as demanding operational requirements, Yantai Port has undertaken exclusive operations for different vessels.

Thanks to its precise and streamlined arrangements, the loading efficiency has been improved greatly. Moreover, the comprehensive services and premium quality are understood to have received high praise from the clients.
