SPG makes presence at 2022 Asia-Pacific Green Port Forum

The 2022 Asia-Pacific Green Port Forum was held via an online platform on May 24. Li Fengli, the general manager of Shandong Port Group (SPG), who is also a member of APSN Consultant Committee, made a speech on SPG's efforts and achievement in respect to green development. Jia Dashan, the secretary of APSN, hosted the online forum.

The forum consisted of four sections in total, which included the green development trend of the Asia-Pacific ports, the introduction of the Green Green Port Award System, the best practices of green port construction, and interviews on port carbon reduction performance. Experts, authorities and business representatives were invited to the forum where they discussed and shared their experiences of the development tendencies, management measures, technique innovation and peaking carbon emissions and carbon neutralization in the port industry.

Li also gave a brief introduction of SPG and discussed the group's successes in green port construction. SPG's unique planning, pollution prevention and control, energy resource application, and technology upgrading for developing green ports were the subject of his speech. According to Li, SPG will change its energy structure to include cleaner resources and a greener transportation system in order to contribute more to the low-carbon development of port industry

SPG has made impressive outcomes in the green development of ports, according to Jia. He also noted that SPG has accumulated rich experience in pollution prevention and management, solid waste utilization and control, as well as the application of clean energy. He expressed his expectation that SPG will achieve its objective of 60 percent clean energy by 2025, and that the carbon peak goal will be met as soon as possible.
